SCHOOL OF MUSIC
NOVA SCOTIA WORKSHOPS
EVENT
June 24th 5P.M. - 8P.M.
Like Irish traditions in Wisconsin, there are many Scottish traditions in Nova Scotia (which translates to "New Scotland"). These traditions date back hundreds of years and include language, music, and dance. In fact, it has been said that the music that is played in Cape Breton, an island off the eastern coast of Nova Scotia, is the oldest form of Scottish traditional music that exists, today. Many young artists carry on these traditions. Pack your instruments and dance shoes and join Andrea Beaton, Kimberly Fraser, Nuala Kennedy, and Troy MacGillivray as they present music, dance and song workshops in the Nova Scotia Traditions.
