Trip to Nova Scotia's Celtic Colours Festival

Thursday, October 7, 2010 - Tuesday, October 12,2010
Cartan Tours

It has been said that few places on earth rival the breathtaking beauty of Cape Breton Island in autumn. This October, Tom O'Connell has once again made it possible for the Irish Community to attest for themselves to the natural beauty of Canada's seaside province of Nova Scotia and delight in the diverse music of the annual Celtic Colours festival as well.

A six day, five night trip package has been arranged through Cartan Tours. The trip would depart Milwaukee on Thursday, October 7, 2010 and return on Tuesday, October 12,2010. Travel arrangements include one night's lodging in Halifax and four nights in Baddeck, the heart of Cape Breton and the hub of Celtic Colours. Because of the unique nature of the Festival, participants would need to have ground transportation once they arrive in Nova Scotia in order to travel from Halifax to Cape Breton and to also travel to nightly concerts.

Celtic Colours Festival Details

Although the 2010 lineup has not as yet been announced, a visit to the Celtic Colours website, www.celtic-colours.com, will provide a general overview of past entertainment and the types of shows scheduled nightly. Festival concert tickets are not included in the price, but tour goers will be given a discount on tickets. Information on purchasing discounted tickets will be provided once the concert schedule has been announced. Each night of the festival, four concerts are scheduled at various sites and a variety of prices. Tour attendees would have to choose concerts separately based on their individual preferences.

Cape Breton also offers many diversions for daytime sightseeing and recreation, including golf at Canada's #1 ranked course, hiking, numerous art galleries and shopping. The Celtic Colours website provides an interactive map outlining many of the exciting things to do and see on the island.

Further information regarding the tour can be obtained by contacting Tom O'Connell, oconnetj@hotmail.com, or by phoning 414-704-5467(cell).

Prior to the departure, Tom will hold several informational sessions where additional information will be distributed, recreational activities will be suggested and questions will be answered!
